Firecrackers, clay lamps, gifts, sweets, scrumptious feasts, and stories of triumph of good over evil. Diwali, celebrated in November, is one of the most popular festivals of India and the world. It literally means, a row of lights. It is the festival of illuminance, and it makes that point with all the fireworks and bright lights that brighten the homes and the night sky. People eat pastries, light clay lamps known as diyas, and tell stories of old, like the story of Ram. Come to this offering and learn about a few of the stories that are tied to this festival. We will also make a craft or two!
